GENESIS

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya in Porbandar was established in October 1988.Innitialy it was functioning in Madhvani College campus from 1988 to 2002.Now the school has its own building with all facilities since 2003.

It is situated near Coast Guard DHQ-1, Opp. Birla Factory. Which is 03 km from Rly Station & 2.5 KM from S.T Depo.

VISION

To cater to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme of education; To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education To initiate and promote experimentation and innovativeness in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training etc.

From its humble beginnings in 1963, KVS has grown into an inspiring institution of excellence in school education. This remarkable journey continues to evolve, driven by an unwavering spirit of innovation and progress.

There is no companion like knowledge, no friend like knowledge, and no other wealth or happiness like knowledge. Education is the foundation upon which a person’s future is built. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, through its continuous and dedicated efforts towards education, is making a meaningful attempt to kindle the divine light of knowledge among students through various Kendriya Vidyalayas across India. All my senior officials, colleagues, teachers, and staff of this organization are sincerely striving to bring education to every student with full dedication. The principal also plays a significant role in various areas of the school, such as academic, administrative, and financial management. Keeping these key aspects of the school in mind, the principal formulates an adaptable plan for their school. The educational and non-educational staff of the school play a crucial role in successfully achieving the objectives outlined in this plan. Positivity is essential for the successful operation of a school. Positivity is an aspect that plays a very important role in shaping an individual’s personality. It is the responsibility of the school to generally develop a positive attitude towards life, colleagues, and the world. In this context, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to mention the need for tolerance towards one another in today’s world, which is often burdened by modern-day styles. The future citizens of our country, who are currently the students in our schools and whom we are nurturing academically, need to be humane and tolerant towards each other to truly be called enlightened global citizens. Along with patriotism for their own country, they also need to be tolerant of the ideologies of other nations. In conclusion, with the hope that God blesses all the efforts we have made and guides us in every way during this new academic session. I wish a bright future to all the students who are shaping their destinies in the educational environment of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

It is our attempt at PM SHRI KV Porbandar to transcend the monotony of textbook learning by using imagination and the creative instincts to catalyse change. We try to encourage our students to be creative, interactive and adaptive so that they can effectively meet the challenges of tomorrow. We are deeply conscious that learning is lifelong process and the only constant in life is change. We need to give our students the skills and values necessary to adapt to tomorrow’s world. We aim to nurture not just achievers, but all our young students since they constitute our nation’s future and will define the future trajectory of success. We try to nudge them to open their hearts and minds so that they become effective players in the transformation process of our society. At the same time we want them to nurture their spontaneity, curiosity and sensitivity to human issues. Indeed all connected with KV Porbandar - teaching staff, administrative staff, students share a common goal: "To excel and make a difference, however small , in the world around them."
